The organisation is responsible for the affairs of Scooter New Zealand which includes the selection of athletes to represent New Zealand at World Skate sanctioned events. 

FRS organise the New Zealand Nationals annually to rank athletes for international competitions in Park and Street disciplines across Women's, Men's and Junior categories.

Freestyle Roller Sports NZ (FRS) is affiliated to Skate NZ who is the governmental recognised controlling body of Roller Sports in New Zealand.

It is affiliated to the international roller skating body (World Skate), the NZ Olympic Committee Inc and is recognised by Sport NZ.

FRS is not responsible for providing funding to athletes who wish to compete in international events. FRS will endeavour to assist athletes with information where possible.
